Xcellence Made Simple
Bambu Lab X2D Combo – Dual-Nozzle Printing Made Accessible
The Bambu Lab X2D Combo brings advanced dual-nozzle printing, AMS automation and intelligent thermal control into one compact professional system.
Print detailed models with clean support interfaces, combine different materials more efficiently and work with engineering filaments in a controlled heated chamber.

Dual-Nozzle Printing
Use separate nozzles for the model and support material to simplify post-processing.
Active Chamber Heating
A chamber temperature up to 65°C supports demanding engineering materials.
AMS 2 Pro Included
Automatic filament handling expands multicolor and multi-material possibilities.
Intelligent Monitoring
Thirty-one sensors monitor feeding, thermal conditions and printer safety.
Geometric Freedom
Dual-Nozzle Printing for Cleaner Supports
The X2D uses a main nozzle for the model and an auxiliary nozzle for support material. Therefore, you can pair materials that separate more easily after printing.
Instead of spending time cutting, sanding and pulling away difficult supports, you can remove many support structures more cleanly. As a result, complex surfaces retain better detail and require less finishing work.
- Separate model and support materials
- Cleaner support contact surfaces
- Less manual post-processing
- Better access to complex geometry
- More efficient selected two-material prints

Two Extrusion Systems
Direct Drive Precision Meets Auxiliary Flexibility
The main nozzle uses a direct-drive extruder for accurate filament control and broad material compatibility.
Meanwhile, the auxiliary nozzle uses a rear-mounted extrusion system connected through a PTFE path. This keeps the toolhead compact while providing a second material path for supports and selected multicolor work.
Mechanical nozzle switching avoids adding another motor to the moving toolhead. Consequently, the system limits extra weight and helps preserve motion stability.
Less Waste, Faster Changes
More Efficient Multicolor Printing
When two colours or materials remain loaded in separate nozzles, the X2D can switch between them without flushing one filament completely through a shared nozzle.
Therefore, selected multicolor projects can use less purge material and finish sooner than conventional single-nozzle filament-changing workflows.
Actual savings depend on the model, colour changes, slicing strategy and selected materials.

Combo Configuration
AMS 2 Pro for Automatic Filament Management
The X2D Combo includes AMS 2 Pro for automatic loading, unloading and filament switching.
Combined with the dual-nozzle system, AMS 2 Pro creates a flexible workflow for colour printing, backup filament and support materials.
- Automatic filament loading and unloading
- Multicolor and multi-material workflows
- Automatic filament backup
- Material management through Bambu Studio
- Protected filament storage
Intelligent Thermal Management
Cooling for PLA, Heating for Engineering Materials
The X2D uses separate cooling and heating strategies according to the selected material.
In cooling mode, the machine moves warm air out of the chamber to improve bridges and overhangs with materials such as PLA.
In heating mode, the chamber reaches up to 65°C, while the nozzles reach up to 300°C. Therefore, materials such as ABS, ASA and selected nylon formulations can print with better layer adhesion and reduced warping.

Controlled Extrusion
PMSM Servo Motor with Real-Time Feedback
The main extrusion system uses a PMSM servo motor that samples torque and position at high frequency.
This feedback allows the printer to detect feeding resistance and potential jams earlier. As a result, extrusion remains more stable during demanding or long print jobs.
Consistent Detail
Dynamic Flow Calibration Before Every Print
Filament moisture, nozzle wear and material variation can affect extrusion over time.
Dynamic Flow Calibration evaluates the main extrusion path before printing and adjusts the relevant flow parameters. Therefore, sharp corners and fine details remain more consistent from job to job.

Thirty-One Sensors
Intelligent Monitoring Across the Printer
The X2D uses 31 sensors to monitor filament movement, thermal conditions and machine safety.
Together with Bambu Lab’s monitoring algorithms, these sensors help detect problems before they waste an entire job.
- Filament-path monitoring
- Extrusion resistance detection
- Thermal-condition monitoring
- Printer-safety monitoring
- Guided alerts through the Bambu ecosystem
Three-Stage Air Filtration
The filtration system combines a G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA filter and coconut-shell activated carbon.
This system helps reduce particles and odours created by supported materials. However, users should still follow the ventilation guidance for each filament.
Quiet Everyday Operation
Bambu Lab rates the X2D at below 50 dB under its stated test conditions.
Therefore, the enclosed printer suits professional studios, workshops and shared creative spaces more comfortably than many open machines.
