Automatic Material System

Reliable Multicolor Printing with AMS lite

The Combo includes the proven AMS lite, which automatically loads, unloads and changes filament during a print.

Because the system manages each material change, you can create detailed multicolor models without pausing the job manually.

  • Four-spool AMS lite workflow
  • Automatic filament switching
  • Reliable long multicolor jobs
  • Automatic filament backup
  • Material control through Bambu Studio

Expand Your Workflow

Expandable up to 19-Colour Printing

The A2L supports a larger AMS ecosystem with compatible box-style AMS units and AMS lite. Therefore, advanced users can create a workflow with up to 19 filament inputs.

This gives you more colours, more material options and better filament storage for complex projects.

Additional AMS units and connection accessories are sold separately.

Engineered for Stability

Clean Results from the First Layer to the Last

Large and tall models place more load on a moving print bed. To manage those changing forces, the A2L uses Adaptive Vibration Compensation.

Instead of relying only on one startup calibration, the system accounts for toolhead position and changing bed load as the model grows. Consequently, it helps reduce ringing and visible surface artifacts.

Granular dampers inside the gantry also absorb unwanted vibration. Software controls predictable movement, while the hardware manages the remaining energy.

Modular Addon Cutting

More Than a 3D Printer

Add Blade Cutting and Pen Drawing

With the optional cutting module, the A2L can move beyond additive manufacturing. Install the compatible tool and start cutting or drawing.

The system supports paper, vinyl, thin leather, PVC and similar materials. Therefore, you can create stickers, decals, packaging, paper crafts and decorative overlays.

  • 300 × 300 mm cutting area
  • 300 × 255 mm drawing area
  • Blade and pen recognition
  • Cutting-mat detection
  • Bitmap and vector support
  • LightGrip and StrongGrip mat support

Cutting and drawing modules are optional and may not be included with the Combo.

Intelligent Monitoring

Put Your Printing Process on Autopilot

Sensors along the filament path work with the servo extruder and Bambu algorithms to detect common print problems.

If the system identifies an issue, it can pause the job and guide you through the solution in Bambu Handy.

  • Filament runout detection
  • Filament tangle detection
  • Nozzle-clumping detection
  • Filament odometry
  • Air-printing monitoring
  • Power-loss recovery

Repeatable Detail

Automatic Flow Calibration Before Every Print

Filament behaviour can change because of moisture, nozzle wear or differences between spools. Therefore, the A2L recalibrates its flow settings before each job.

The printer measures how the installed material flows through the current nozzle. As a result, corners stay sharper and small details remain cleaner.

Engineered for Quiet Operation

Active motor-noise cancellation, linear rails and intelligent fan control help lower operating noise.

Silent Mode operates at approximately 49 dB, making the A2L suitable for homes, classrooms and shared workspaces.

Tested for Indoor Air Quality

The A2L carries UL 2904 certification for 3D-printer indoor-air emissions when used with tested official Bambu Lab filaments.

Always follow the material safety guidance and use suitable ventilation for the filament you print.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main upgrades of the Bambu Lab A2L?

Beyond its 105% larger build volume of 330 × 320 × 325 mm, the A2L introduces several major hardware and software upgrades:

  1. PMSM closed-loop servo extruder for stable high-speed extrusion and active anomaly monitoring.
  2. Adaptive Vibration Compensation with multi-point calibration and load adaptation.
  3. Two granular dampers that physically absorb resonance and reduce ringing.
  4. Modular tool mounting for blade cutting and pen plotting.
  5. Physical nozzle-clumping detector for more reliable blob detection.
Why does the A2L not include dual-nozzle printing?

Bambu Lab designed the A2L to deliver a simple, reliable large-format printing experience. Therefore, the company focused on build volume, surface quality, ease of use and dependable single-nozzle performance.

Users who need advanced dual-nozzle functionality may prefer the Bambu Lab X2D.

How quiet is the Bambu Lab A2L?

In Silent Mode, the A2L operates below 49 dB, which is comparable to a quiet library. In Standard Mode, peak noise is approximately 52 dB, based on Bambu Lab internal testing.

Why is the maximum heatbed temperature limited to 80°C?

The A2L is an open-frame printer designed mainly for materials such as PLA and PETG. Because the bed is much larger than standard desktop printers, maintaining very high temperatures would require substantially more power.

Bambu Lab set the maximum bed temperature to 80°C to support mainstream filaments while keeping power demand suitable for home electrical circuits.

What print-failure detection features does the A2L include?

The A2L includes a PMSM closed-loop servo extruder and a physical nozzle-clumping detector for more precise extrusion monitoring.

It also supports filament-runout detection, air-printing or nozzle-clog detection, tangled-spool detection and filament odometry.

How many AMS units and colors can the A2L support?

The A2L can support up to four box-style AMS units and one AMS lite in series, allowing up to 19-color printing.

However, connecting the box-style AMS uses one buffer path, so one AMS lite slot becomes unavailable.

Do AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT need an external power supply for drying?

Yes. Due to the A2L power-distribution design, the drying functions of AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT require an external independent power source.

Does the A2L support laser modules?

No. Because the A2L has an open-frame design, it does not support laser modules for safety reasons.

However, the modular mounting point supports a blade-cutting module and pen-plotting functions.

What do I need to add blade cutting and pen plotting?

You need the Blade Cutting Upgrade Kit. It includes the cutting module, pen module, dedicated cutting mat and related accessories.

Does the A2L support automatic visual alignment for cutting?

The A2L does not include a BirdsEye camera, so it cannot provide the fully automatic Live Spatial Alignment available on selected H2-series laser models.

Instead, users can use the smartphone camera in Bambu Handy for photo-assisted alignment.

Does the A2L support Print-then-Cut?

The Print-then-Cut feature is currently under development and may become available through a future OTA firmware update.

Is the Bambu Lab A2L suitable for beginners?

Yes. Automatic leveling, flow calibration, nozzle-offset calibration and guided controls reduce manual setup, making the A2L suitable for both new and experienced users.

Can I buy the Bambu Lab A2L Combo in Cyprus?

Yes. The Bambu Lab A2L Combo is available from The 3D Factory with local support and delivery across Cyprus.
