Bambu PETG-CF Black

With the addition of carbon fiber, Bambu PETG-CF Black overcomes the low stiffness of regular PETG and delivers improved strength and toughness. Because of this, it’s a solid choice for structural and load-bearing parts.

So whether it’s a garden tool or a mechanical bracket, this filament handles the stress that standard PETG can’t.

Bambu PETG-CF Black carbon fiber filament

Enhanced Strength and Stiffness

Since carbon fiber reinforces the base PETG, it holds up to structural and load-bearing use standard PETG can’t.

Less Clumping and Stringing

Because it prints more cleanly than standard PETG, results come out with fewer defects to clean up.

Glossier Carbon Fiber Finish

Its texture conceals layer lines while staying glossier than PLA-CF, so it looks as good as it performs.

RFID for AMS

Printing parameters are embedded in RFID, so compatible AMS units read them automatically.

Built for Real Conditions

Ready for Outdoor Use

Thanks to its enhanced resistance to heat and moisture, Bambu PETG-CF is genuinely suited to outdoor applications — feel free to create durable tools for the garden or any outdoor environment.

Since it also holds up well under structural load, it works just as well for functional indoor parts that need to survive daily stress, not just decorative pieces.

RFID Support for Automatic AMS Settings

RFID embeds all the printing parameters for PETG-CF Black, so compatible AMS units read them automatically as soon as you load the spool.

  • Compatible with AMS
  • Compatible with AMS 2 Pro
  • Compatible with AMS HT
  • Not compatible with AMS lite — see caution below

Best Uses for Bambu PETG-CF Black

Since it combines carbon-fibre strength with outdoor durability, it suits both functional parts and pieces that live outside.

Printing, Drying, and Safety Tips

Nozzle Recommendation

Because of the added carbon fiber, PETG-CF needs a more wear-resistant hardened steel nozzle. A 0.4mm hardened steel nozzle can be used, but a 0.6mm hardened steel nozzle is recommended to further reduce clogging risk.

Z-Axis Strength

For stronger Z-axis adhesion, increase infill density. Avoid an open-frame printer, and don’t set the cooling fan speed too high, since overcooling can weaken layer bonding.

Surface Finish

For a shinier appearance, use lower printing speeds and slightly higher nozzle temperatures.

Drying Recommendations

PETG-CF must be properly dried before printing, and stored in a dry environment afterward.

Refill Guidelines

Refill filament needs to be used with a spool — follow the Bambu Reusable Spool swap guide for step-by-step instructions.

Safety Tip — Carbon Fiber Debris

As a carbon fiber reinforced filament, PETG-CF can produce fine fiber debris during use, post-processing, or contact with rough or fractured surfaces, which carries a risk of mechanical skin punctures or foreign body irritation.

So it’s worth avoiding direct contact with rough edges and cross-sections with bare hands, and we recommend wearing gloves when loading or unloading the filament, as well as during cutting, sanding, or other post-processing steps — along with any additional protective equipment your specific setup calls for.

Bambu PETG-CF Black FAQ

Is PETG-CF the same as PET-CF?

No. They’re related but different materials — PETG-CF is glycol-modified PET with carbon fiber, while PET-CF uses standard PET with more carbon fiber and higher strength and heat resistance. PET-CF also needs a 0.6mm nozzle and different drying conditions.

What nozzle do I need for this filament?

A Hardened Steel Nozzle is required. A 0.4mm hardened steel nozzle works, but 0.6mm is recommended to further reduce clogging risk. Stainless Steel and 0.2mm nozzles aren’t compatible.

Can I use this filament with AMS lite?

No, AMS lite isn’t compatible with this filament. It does work with AMS, AMS 2 Pro, and AMS HT.

Is it safe to handle?

With reasonable precautions, yes. Since carbon fiber can shed fine debris during cutting, sanding, or contact with rough edges, we recommend gloves during loading, unloading, and post-processing.

Can I use it outdoors?

Yes. Because it resists heat and moisture well, it suits durable outdoor tools and garden equipment.

Is Bambu PETG-CF Black available in Cyprus?

Yes, The 3D Factory stocks it, since we’re Cyprus’s official Bambu Lab reseller and deliver across the island.
