Drying, Colour, and Scent Notes
Higher Moisture Absorption
Since PLA Wood contains natural wood powder, it’s more sensitive to moisture than standard PLA. Dry it before use for the best print quality and a consistent finish.
Storage and Drying
We dry and vacuum-seal this filament before shipping. However, transport conditions can still affect moisture levels along the way, so we strongly recommend drying it right after opening and storing it in a sealed container with desiccant or in the AMS. Repeat drying and moisture-proofing before each long-term storage period.
Colour Variation
Because natural wood powder varies batch to batch, slight colour variation can occur depending on drying level and raw material differences — that’s a normal part of working with a genuinely natural material, not a defect.
Wood-Like Smell
During printing, PLA Wood emits a mild, natural wood scent due to the wood powder content. It’s non-irritating and non-toxic, so there’s nothing to worry about while printing indoors.
