Description
Charges by Light. Glows in the Dark.
PLA Glow Pink Filament – Bambu’s Luminous PLA
PLA Glow Pink Filament from Bambu Lab uses luminous powder built right into the material, so prints charge under light and emit a soft pink glow once things go dark.
Because it keeps the same easy-to-print behaviour as standard PLA, going glow-in-the-dark doesn’t mean giving up the reliable results you’re used to.
Charges Under Light
Since it absorbs UV or sunlight, it builds up charge naturally without any special equipment.
Glows Soft Pink in the Dark
Once the lights go down, the print emits a visible pink glow.
Recharges Repeatedly
Because it recharges in a couple of hours, you can reuse the effect over and over without losing print quality.
RFID for AMS
Printing parameters are embedded in RFID, so compatible AMS units read them automatically.
Built-In Glow, Not Painted On
What Makes PLA Glow Different
PLA Glow Pink Filament works by mixing luminous powder directly into the material, so the glow effect runs through the whole print rather than sitting only on the surface. As a result, the effect stays consistent even if a print gets scuffed or worn over time.
Since it charges under UV light or sunlight and then releases that light gradually in the dark, it suits signage, accessories, logos, nameplates, and anything else that needs to stand out once the lights go down.

RFID Support for Automatic AMS Settings
RFID embeds the printing parameters for PLA Glow Pink, so compatible AMS units read them automatically as soon as you load the spool.
- Compatible with AMS
- Compatible with AMS 2 Pro
- Compatible with AMS HT
- Not recommended for AMS Lite — see caution below
Best Uses for PLA Glow Pink
Since the glow effect only really shows in the dark, it works best on projects meant to be seen or used once the lights are off.
Accessory Compatibility
| Accessory | Recommended | Not Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| AMS System | AMS, AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT | AMS Lite — the material’s hardness and roughness can cause feeding failures |
| Hotend / Nozzle | Standard nozzle sizes (0.4mm and above recommended) | A 0.2mm nozzle is best avoided — worth confirming against Bambu’s current spec sheet before printing, since glow filaments are typically more abrasive than standard PLA |
Printing and Drying Tips
Printing Tips
- Avoid AMS Lite for this filament, since its hardness and roughness create substantial feeding resistance
- Keep it away from a 0.2mm nozzle, since glow filaments are generally more abrasive than standard PLA
Drying Recommendations
- Dry at 55°C for 8 hours if the material has absorbed moisture
- Store it in a dry environment after use

PLA Glow Pink FAQ
How does PLA Glow Pink actually glow?
Luminous powder is mixed into the filament itself, so it absorbs UV or sunlight and then releases that light gradually once things go dark.
How long does the glow last, and can I recharge it?
Yes, it recharges repeatedly. Exposing it to light again for a couple of hours restores the glow without any loss in print quality.
Can I use this filament with AMS Lite?
We don’t recommend it. Because the material is hard and rough, it can cause feeding failures in AMS Lite specifically — it works fine with AMS, AMS 2 Pro, and AMS HT.
What’s it best used for?
Since the glow only really shows once it’s dark, it suits signage, nameplates, logos, accessories, and decorative pieces meant to stand out at night.
Do I need to dry it before printing?
If it’s absorbed moisture, drying at 55°C for 8 hours is recommended, and storing it in a dry environment afterward helps keep it that way.
Is PLA Glow Pink available in Cyprus?
Yes, The 3D Factory stocks it, since we’re Cyprus’s official Bambu Lab reseller and deliver across the island.
